An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Patent Administrator/IP Paralegal to join the firm's growing support team. Working closely with Patent Attorneys and Technical Assistants, you will play a key role in the management of UK, European and international patent portfolios, ensuring deadlines are met and clients receive an exceptional level of service. This position offers a varied workload, exposure to high-quality matters and genuine long-term career prospects.
Key Responsibilities

- Providing administrative and case management support to Patent Attorneys and Technical Assistants
- Managing IP records and monitoring official, client and internal deadlines
- Preparing and checking documentation for UK, European and international patent filings
- Drafting standard correspondence and preparing client reporting letters
- Liaising with overseas associates and official bodies
- Handling recordals including assignments, mergers and licences
- Preparing patent portfolio reports and status updates
- Managing billing processes and monitoring outstanding costs
- Using client-specific systems to receive instructions, report progress and submit invoices
- Supporting the wider team with the smooth running of client portfolios

Requirements
- n
- Previous experience within Patent Administration or an IP Paralegal position
- CIPA Patent Administrators Certificate would be advantageous, although not essential
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- A proactive, flexible and positive approach to work
- A minimum of two A Levels (or equivalent), with a degree being beneficial
