Minewarefare Contracts Manager – UWS

This role is based in Templecombe/Cheadle, with travel as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the contract baseline and lead contract change activities with both the client and our internal stakeholders.
  • Provide the commercial voice and expertise across multi‑functional teams and support and guide programme managers.
  • Actively manage commercial opportunities, identifying and mitigating associated risks and liabilities.
  • Travel flexibly to other sites in the UK and overseas to support internal and customer engagements.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills across contract/project and bid lifecycles.
  • Ability to establish effective relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Forward‑thinking, able to consider broader strategy and anticipate needs.
  • Capable of analysing complex scenarios and translating them into strategic solutions.
  • Strong understanding of risk and opportunity management.
  • Collaborative, customer‑focused, consistent and flexible.
  • Resilient and tenacious in high‑intensity periods, notably during bid activity.
  • Proficient in managing change to protect the company’s interests.
  • Good commercial/business awareness and ability to provide expertise across the enterprise.
  • Understanding of the wider defence business and commercial environment.
  • Awareness of the UK MoD SSRO procurement approach.
  • Understanding of Trade Compliance issues related to defence contracting.

Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge and experience of MoD contracting and single‑source pricing.
  • Experience in bids, proposals, contract changes, and amendments.
  • Contract negotiation experience.
  • Risk management experience.
  • Certification or experience in IACCM, CIPS desirable.
  • Mobile and flexible to visit UK and overseas sites on short notice.
