Birmingham Children’s Trust is opening a new home and seeking dedicated and experienced Night Wake Officers to join a supportive and nurturing team at Trinity, Birmingham.

About Trinity

Trinity is a specialist long‑stay residential home providing care for up to four children with learning disabilities. Our aim is to create a nurturing environment where children can develop the skills and confidence they need for day‑to‑day life. We support children’s emotional, health and social needs, tailoring care to each individual’s requirements.

The residential provision is a 24‑hour service; applicants will be expected to work shifts, weekends and bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and supervision of residents
  • Providing personal care
  • Supporting and managing complex behaviours
  • Communication and record‑keeping
  • Promoting independence and dignity
  • Maintaining a safe and clean environment
  • Performing domestic tasks
  • Collaborating with the team

About You

  • Experience working with children with learning disabilities, autism, complex health conditions and challenging behaviour, or equivalent.
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including use of communication aids.
  • A compassionate and patient approach with a commitment to high‑quality care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with co‑workers, a range of professionals and stakeholders.
  • Relevant qualifications in childcare are desirable.
  • Right‑to‑work in the UK and no sponsorship required.
