Maintenance Engineer

Rotating Days/Nights.

£48,900 – £50,400 Per Annum + Excellent Benefits and Continuous development & support.

Location: Golborne (WA3 3JD)

At ALPLA, we stand for high‑quality plastic packaging throughout the world. Our UK Flagship Golborne plant is looking to enhance our existing engineering function. You will report to the Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Work on preventative and reactive maintenance activities within the plant, focusing on minimising downtime and ensuring high efficiencies in a state‑of‑the‑art equipment and machinery environment.
  • Ensure all equipment, machinery and peripherals operate efficiently and at full capability, ensuring a continuous production process.
  • Carry out repairs on machines as part of breakdown or preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate paperwork and maintenance logs in accordance with company procedures.
  • Perform duties in line with quality, hygiene and food safety policies.
  • Perform any other duties reasonably required by supervision consistent with the Purpose of job/mission.

Skills and Experience

  • Time served apprenticeship in Electrical discipline preferred; minimum multi‑skill experience.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and ability to read schematics.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics and ability to read schematics.
  • Familiarity with 17th or 18th edition electrical regulations; full understanding of energy isolation, safe working and the use of L.O.T.O.
  • Demonstrable electrical fault‑finding skills.
  • Experience in FMCG background / cross‑functional M&E multi‑skill.
  • Clean “as you go” work ethic, good understanding of basic fundamentals of 5S.

  • Proven experience in reactive and preventative maintenance techniques.
  • Good communicator at all levels, possesses team‑working skills.
