An independent seaside amusement facility is seeking a skilled Mechanical or Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer/Technician this role involves maintaining and repairing rides, games, and associated equipment in a fast-paced environment. The position requires strong attention to detail, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to ensuring safety and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance, inspection, and repair of amusement rides, games, and support equipmentDiagnose faults and carry out repairs on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systemsEnsure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently in line with industry standardsRead and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manualsUse computer systems or tablets to log maintenance activities and complete tasksAssist in maintaining workshop organisation, stores, and inventory in line with LEAN/SMART principlesSupport and occasionally supervise or train junior staff or techniciansWork both independently and as part of a team to meet operational demandsCarry out work at heights and in varied indoor/outdoor environments
Requirements
Minimum Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in mechanical engineering, maintenance, or related fieldAt least 4-5 years’ experience in an industrial or maintenance environmentStrong mechanical aptitude with experience in diagnosing complex systemsWorking knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems (preferred)Understanding of industrial maintenance practices and safety standardsAbility to read and understand technical documentation in EnglishCompetent with digital tools (computer/tablet-based task systems)Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentialityPhysically capable of manual work including lifting, climbing, and working at heights (up to 10 metres)Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
