Part‑time, permanent roles (20 or 22.5 hours per week) in Brighton & Hove. Salary £34,475 per annum (pro‑rate), working pattern to be discussed at interview.

YMCA DownsLink Group is a leading charity for children and young people across Sussex and Surrey, offering safe homes, mental health support and trusted advice. This role works in our Children and Young People (CYP) Wellbeing Service – the central hub for all mental health referrals in Brighton & Hove – providing mild‑to‑moderate support for ages 2–24.
Key Responsibilities
- Triage referrals for children and young people with ADHD and/or autism (neurodivergence diagnosed or suspected) with mild‑to‑moderate presentation.
- Complete wellbeing assessments and produce case notes.
- Deliver short‑term, evidence‑based low‑intensity CBT interventions (individual and group sessions).
- Maintain accurate records and work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Safeguard, support, and promote the welfare of children and young people, undertaking safeguarding duties as required.
- Participate in team supervision, training, and development activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Recognised qualification: Child Wellbeing Practice Graduate/Postgraduate Diploma; Postgraduate Certificate in Evidence‑Based Psychological Treatment – Children and Young People’s Wellbeing Practitioner; or Child and Young Persons Psychological Wellbeing Practice PGDip.
- Accreditation or eligibility with a relevant professional body (HCPC, BACP, BABCP, UKCP, BPS, PTUK or AFSP).
- Experience delivering evidence‑based, short‑term, low‑intensity interventions to children and young people aged 8–24 within a community setting.
- Experience supporting children and young people with suspected or diagnosed neurodivergent conditions (ADHD and/or autism).
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Team‑player, proactive in safeguarding and working under supervision.
- Teaching or training qualification (e.g., Level 3 AET) and experience designing and delivering group training is advantageous.
