An exciting opportunity has arisen to be a part of our East Midlands RRDN flexible workforce, the Agile Research Delivery Team.
We are looking to recruit a Team Administrator to join our Agile Research Delivery Team.
The post holder will be based at one of our East Midlands offices (Paget House, Leicester or Curie Court, Nottingham). Extensive travelling across the region will be expected, with some travel across the East Midlands required.
Our flexible Agile Research Delivery Team workforce has built a reputation of excellence, providing researchers with a service to achieve high quality outcomes. We have ambitious plans to expand the team and provide development opportunities to support delivery of research in public health, community and social care settings.
Under current UK immigration rules Band 3 roles do not meet the salary or skills requirements for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship by the Trust. Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK at the time of application.
Main duties of the job
The focus for this role is to provide essential administrative support to the Agile Research Delivery Team, helping to set up and deliver NIHR RDN Portfolio studies across the region. You will be an integral part of the RRDN core team, working alongside different professions and organisations to ensure research tasks and data management processes run smoothly.
This role requires a flexible approach to working across varied health and care settings. Your main duties will involve managing general administration for study delivery and using the NIHR Hub for data tasks. You will also be responsible for coordinating meetings, preparing paperwork, and supporting staff recruitment and development processes.
The post holder will need strong interpersonal skills to maintain collaborative relationships with a breadth of stakeholders and partners. Acting as a main point of contact for administrative queries, you will ensure clear communication across the team while maintaining a focus on data protection and confidentiality. You’ll work under supervision to support the wider team in maximising research opportunities and improving the service we provide.

Job responsibilities
The East Midlands RRDN Agile Research Delivery Team Administrator is responsible for providing essential administrative support to ensure the smooth collection and maintenance of data for studies on the NIHR portfolio. Working under the supervision of senior research staff, you will help ensure the accuracy of documentation to meet the high standards required for health and care research.
Support the Agile Research Delivery Team with general administration related to study delivery, data management, and staff recruitment processes.
Maintain the regional Local Portfolio Management System (LPMS) and use the NIHR Hub to manage spreadsheets, files, and team documentation.
Coordinate team activities by arranging meetings and sourcing venues across the region, while preparing necessary paperwork such as agendas and directions.
Act as a main point of contact for administrative queries, liaising courteously with colleagues and partners across the network to help maximise engagement.
Ensure strict compliance with data protection laws and trust policies regarding confidentiality and security.
Contribute to effective stock control and the ordering of supplies to support research delivery across varied settings.
Work flexibly across the East Midlands region, including travel between sites to meet the needs of the service and our partner organisations.
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
- Good general standard of education to GCSE level or equivalent including English
- IT qualification or equivalent
Knowledge and Experience
- Experience of working in an administrative/data management position in a health care setting
- Knowledge and awareness of the importance of data confidentiality and Information Governance
- Awareness of research in health and care settings
Skills and Abilities
- Good IT skills, to include use of Web applications, Microsoft Office and/or Google
- Good planning and organisational skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and work on own initiative
- Ability to accurately input, collate and present information
- Ability to work calmly and effectively, seeking support when required
- Ability to travel for work and current driving licence
