School Chef

Manpower are currently seeking a reliable Chef to join our friendly school catering team through until the Summer Term with the potential to be extended after this time.

Location: School-based role. Postcode HU9

Hours: 8:15am – 2:15pm (Monday to Friday)

Pay: £13.50 per hour

Responsibilities

• Preparing, cooking, and presenting nutritious meals in line with school menus
• Ensuring all food is prepared to a high standard and served on time
• Managing kitchen operations during service, including delegating tasks where required
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment
• Monitoring stock levels and supporting with ordering and storage of ingredients
• Adhering to all food safety, allergen, and hygiene regulations at all times

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a chef, ideally within a school or large-scale catering environment
• Knowledge of food safety standards and allergen management
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• A positive, proactive, and flexible approach
• Must hold a valid Enhanced DBS certificate
