About The Role

As a Technical Operator working in the manufacturing department, you will be responsible for mixing syrup required for production, preparing cleaning and sanitation chemicals, and keeping relevant areas clean, meeting or exceeding scorecard performance. You will work flexibly in a multi‑skilled team, carrying out a wide range of tasks to maintain safety and quality standards across the site, contributing towards budgeted site performance through effective batch make‑up control while operating and maintaining all relevant equipment for material delivery.

Role Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, Quality, Environmental, and statutory standards, alongside all site policies and procedures.
  • Carry out duties across the manufacturing operation, working closely with Raw Materials and Production teams to deliver against production plans while achieving efficiency and performance targets.
  • Ensure all materials are managed in line with Quality, Food Safety, and Health & Safety standards outlined within site documentation.
  • Utilise business systems, including SAP, to effectively manage product inventory and support track‑and‑trace requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams on all matters relating to your operational area.
  • Support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, working in line with Zero Loss and 5S principles.
  • Support the development of yourself and others in line with the functional skills framework and approved standards.
  • Complete all relevant quality checks in accordance with procedures and raise any issues promptly.
  • Operate forklift trucks and PPT equipment safely and effectively where required.
  • Carry out workplace transport pre‑shift and safety inspections in line with site requirements.
  • Participate in cross‑functional improvement projects and contribute positively to operational initiatives.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, housekeeping, and operational cleanliness across all working areas.

Experience And Key Attributes

  • Previous experience working within a manufacturing or production environment is essential.
  • Ability to work independently and take appropriate action when required.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.
  • Flexible approach with the ability to work across multiple production areas.
  • Experience using SAP systems would be advantageous.
  • Basic standard of education with capability to achieve NVQ Level II or equivalent.
