Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Operator to join our Blockline Support Team in Daventry, UK on a temporary contract of up to 24 months. The role involves operating advanced CNC machines to produce high‑precision cylinder blocks and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with strong skills in mathematics and technical knowledge.
  • Vocational or technical training in CNC machining or engineering is highly advantageous.
  • Previous experience operating CNC machines in the automotive or engineering fields preferred; training will be provided.
  • Comfortable with PCs or handheld terminals and able to use quality standards and safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Operate advanced CNC machines to craft high‑precision cylinder blocks, ensuring flawless quality and adherence to detailed specifications.
  • Actively promote a safe working environment by following rigorous Health & Safety guidelines and contributing to proactive solutions.
  • Collaborate with a skilled team, fostering open communication and mutual support to meet production goals and improve processes.
  • Identify areas for improvement in quality, safety, and efficiency, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean work area, perform routine maintenance, and ensure equipment reliability for seamless operations.
  • Consistently meet production targets and cycle times, demonstrating expertise in manual and automated systems.
  • Follow quality control processes such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) to manage quality and minimize production costs.

Shift Rotation

  • Morning shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm.
  • Afternoon shift: Monday to Friday, 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm (successful applicants must be able to work both shift rotations).
