About the Role
We’re offering a support worker role in Rockland St. Mary, near Norwich. You’ll support a young man in his 20s with complex needs due to Alfie’s syndrome and spinal injury, including seizures, mobility issues and learning difficulties. Your role is to support him physically and emotionally, helping him live life to the fullest by following a detailed care plan, managing seizures, supporting his physical needs, and administering medications.
Key Responsibilities
- Following a detailed care plan with precision
- Monitoring and responding to seizures and epilepsy-related symptoms
- Administering rescue medication if required, according to the care plan
- Providing reassurance and safety during post‑seizure recovery
- Supporting a daily/nightly bowel and urinary programme
- Managing mobility and physiotherapy exercises
- Delivering medication safely and accurately
- Using NG tube for drainage and BiPAP machine for breathing support
- Using suction equipment when needed
- Ensuring a calm and attentive atmosphere as the client may tire easily
