Brighthire Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join a leading waste and environmental services operation in Chelmsford, Essex.

This is an ongoing full‑time position involving the transportation of Roll‑On/Roll‑Off (RoRo) containers between waste facilities and disposal sites across the county. The driver will operate a Wag & Drag vehicle while supporting the smooth running of multiple operational sites.

Duties

• Drive a Class 1 Wag & Drag vehicle
• Collect, transport and tip RoRo containers
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
• Complete tachograph records and transport paperwork
• Ensure loads are secured safely and transported in compliance with regulations
• Work closely with site managers and operational teams
• Assist with container movements on‑site when required
• Follow all health & safety procedures and site‑specific rules

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) Licence
• Driver CPC Qualification
• Digital Tachograph Card
• Good understanding of driver regulations and transport legislation
• Previous HGV Class 1 driving experience
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Flexible approach to working hours, including some weekends
