Occupational Therapist – Chigwell, Essex

Salary: £45,123 – £53,603 | Full-Time, 37 hours per week | Term-Time Only | Permanent

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our growing team. Working closely with teachers, teaching assistants, and therapists, you will deliver high-quality care that directly supports pupils’ participation in school life and their wider development.

We are a specialist school based in Chigwell, Essex, committed to providing outstanding education and therapeutic support for our pupils. The school meets the needs of pupils with a primary diagnosis of autism or with a clear evidence of being on the autism pathway.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver individual and group therapy sessions in line with each pupil’s needs and Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans
• Work collaboratively with the school’s multidisciplinary team, families, and external professionals
• Provide training, guidance, and support to school staff to embed therapeutic strategies into everyday learning
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to annual reviews and reports

About You

• Degree in Occupational Therapy and current HCPC registration
• Experience working with children and young people, ideally in an educational or specialist SEND setting
• Strong knowledge of sensory processing, motor development, and functional skills
• Excellent communication and collaborative working skills
• Committed to inclusive practice and continuous professional development
