Working with your store supervisors, you’ll lead the shift, working with your team of baristas to create our Starbucks Experience for our customers with high‑quality service, beverages and products, whilst creating our third‑place environment.
Responsibilities
- Executing store operations during scheduled shifts, including organising opening and closing duties, upholding Starbucks operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling, safety and security, to ensure the safety of all partners during each shift.
- Collaborating with the store leadership team to guide great shifts, providing support to partners, and inspiring the Starbucks Experience for both partners and customers.
- Inspiring and motivating the store team to create best moments for our partners and customers, pre‑empting and adapting to any potential issues and resolving any that arise to optimise the customer experience.
- Seeing challenges as opportunities for continuous improvement to drive operational excellence.
- Analysing data and leveraging observations in store to inform decision making that improves both the customer and overall store performance.
- Working with store leaders to use forecasting and scheduling tools to manage labour within the required budgets and supporting the recruitment of world‑class and diverse talent that meets the store needs.
- Cascading and rolling out new initiatives to enable operational excellence and drive business results.
- Supporting the growth of partners through performance and development, coaching and developing the team, and building positive relationships to understand partner challenges, needs and aspirations.
- Setting challenging and realistic goals to drive engagement and improve partner performance.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will have previous experience in leading a team in a dynamic retail or hospitality environment. You’ll champion Starbucks’ mission and values, work closely with the store manager to understand market and competition, and identify opportunities to drive store profitability.
Schedule & Training
Working hours may include early‑morning, evening, weekend, night and/or holiday shifts. All retail store partners begin their careers by undertaking an introductory training programme, led by experienced in‑store trainers and coaches. The programme is designed to immerse you in the Starbucks culture and set you up for success, covering on‑the‑job learning supported by the manager.
