An excellent opportunity has arisen at our Lockerbie site for a Despatch Operative to join our Despatch department on a full‑time and permanent basis. With significant investment taking place at our Lockerbie site, this is a perfect time to join an expanding team, allowing you the opportunity to progress your career within the dairy industry.

Reporting into the Shift Team Leader, the candidate will work a rotating shift pattern that includes both day and night shifts and play an integral part in the distribution of our dairy products.

Responsibilities

• Move finished product from production area into refrigerated storage area.
• Complete all cold store functions including order picking, physical inventory, loading, and housekeeping duties.
• Load and unload vehicles, operate pallet trucks, and complete paperwork to ensure smooth delivery of our product range.
• Support and maintain safety and hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• Motivated team player who can work on their own initiative.
• Previous experience in a warehousing or cold store environment is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene or willingness to receive appropriate training.
• Strong communicator, able to prioritise tasks, and contribute to regular department meetings.
• Strong performer with a good attendance record and willingness to learn further.
• Very flexible attitude to working hours, including weekends, shift work on a rota basis, and holiday cover.
