The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Operative based in Leighton Buzzard. This is a full time ongoing temporary position working 48 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
The pay rate is £14.24 per hour inclusive of holiday pay.
This is a mobile role working alongside a Grounds Maintenance Team Leader, maintaining a variety of commercial sites including retail parks, business parks, schools, colleges, parks, and public open spaces.
You will form part of a two-person team carrying out planned grounds maintenance works and ensuring sites are maintained to a high standard throughout the year.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with grounds maintenance, gardening, landscaping, or outdoor maintenance experience looking for ongoing work with a well-established grounds maintenance company.
A full UK driving licence is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out grass cutting, strimming, hedge cutting, and general grounds maintenance
- Maintain commercial and public sector sites to a high standard
- Use hand-held grounds maintenance equipment safely and effectively
- Support the Team Leader with daily site tasks
- Carry out litter picking and general site tidying
- Assist with planting and seasonal maintenance works when required
- Complete daily tasks efficiently and safely
- Follow Health and Safety procedures at all times
Requirements
- Previous grounds maintenance, gardening, landscaping, or outdoor maintenance experience preferred
- Full UK driving licence preferred
- Experience using grounds maintenance equipment advantageous
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
