4 x Robot Welders Needed in Cheshire
We are looking for four Robot Welders to join an Engineering business based in Sandbach on a straight permanent contract.
While the hiring manager prefers people who have previous experience operating robotic welding machinery, they are prepared to look at someone with limited MIG welding and/or fabrication experience and bring them into the business as a Robot Welder with future progression opportunities.
For the first 12 weeks you will train on day shifts (7:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Thursday, 12:30 pm finish Friday) before moving onto a rotating 6:2/2:10 shift pattern once trained.
During the first 12 weeks you would earn an annual salary between GBP 26,500 : GBP 29,200 per annum (DOE). Once on the rotating shift system you could earn between GBP 32,000 : GBP 35,500 per annum. Overtime is regularly available and is paid at T1/3 after 39 hours, and T1/2 after 48 hours. The business also offers a GBP 2,000 new‑starter incentive bonus, paid in stages: GBP 200 after the first month, GBP 800 once you have passed probation, and GBP 1,000 after 12 months of service.
What You Will Do
- Set up and operate robotic welding machinery.
- Actively and diligently manage all robot machine settings and make necessary adjustments.
- Interpret engineering drawings and geometric tolerances.
- Inspect your own work in accordance with relevant engineering drawings and documentation.
- Operate hand tools effectively.
- Work with sheet metal on one‑off components as well as batch work.
What You Will Bring
- Proven experience operating robotic weld machinery.
- Mechanical knowledge for equipment operation.
- Confidence reading and interpreting technical drawings.
- Experience with hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail and a practical, hands‑on approach.
- Basic mechanical skills for day‑to‑day maintenance.
- Some basic welding experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
