Fabricator/Welder

Homer Burgess is part of RSK Group, a family‑run mechanical engineering business based in Dumfries, Scotland. We manufacture, fabricate, install, repair and maintain steel components.

We are hiring a skilled Fabricator/Welder in Dumfries, Scotland. The ideal candidate will perform fabrication and welding procedures to manufacture a wide variety of components to specification, meeting customer requirements while complying with commercial, quality and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Manufacture components in accordance with customer requirements
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
• Apply the most efficient methods of manufacture
• Perform self inspection of own work in accordance with the company QMS
• Perform final inspection of manufactured components as stipulated by the Management team
• Ensure company Health & Safety requirements are followed at all times, including housekeeping, PPE and machinery operations

Person Specification

• Time‑served tradesperson or demonstrable equivalent experience
• Wide range of fabrication experience
• Capable of assessing a job and applying experience appropriately, even when new
• Competent and confident in MIG welding; TIG welding experience beneficial
• Capable of working to tight fabrication tolerances
• Capable of problem solving and thinking on your feet
• Supportive of company policies, including QM & H&S systems
• Supportive of company values of integrity, fairness & honesty
• Flexible in approach to work
• Capable of working well under pressure
