Job Summary

The Huntingdon Community Centre supports adults with learning disabilities in a vibrant day centre. As a Support Worker, you will create an inclusive environment, lead activities, and help individuals achieve their personal goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build positive, trusting relationships and support people to achieve their personal goals.
  • Deliver and support engaging activities within the centre and in the community, promoting life skills, wellbeing and social inclusion.
  • Encourage independence by helping people develop everyday skills and make their own choices.
  • Provide person‑centred support tailored to individual needs, including personal care and medication where required.
  • Work as part of a collaborative team, contributing to support plans, risk assessments and reviews.
  • Use IT systems to keep accurate records and ensure high‑quality care delivery.
  • Promote dignity, respect and equality, helping people feel safe, heard and valued.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Level 2 qualification in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Commitment to further training and development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience working with adults with learning disabilities or similar populations.
  • Confidence using IT systems for recording and communication.
  • Caring, enthusiastic, and eager to make a real difference.

Work Hours & Pay

Part‑time positions available: 30 hours per week or 22 hours per week. Working times are 8:50 am–5:10 pm on Wednesdays and 8:50 am–4:00 pm Monday‑Friday (subject to change). Starting pay is £13.45 per hour.
