Responsibilities

• Protect the public and help to make a positive impact on people’s lives.
• Work in a fast‑paced environment where no two days or situations are the same.
• Build constructive, positive and professional relationships with offenders at the lowest point in their lives.
• Act as part of one team to keep the prison, offenders and everyone who works here safe.
• Work various shifts and weekends.
• Carry out a range of roles – from peacekeeper to counsellor or teacher.

Qualifications & Background

• Integrity, skills and strength of character.
• Empathy, self‑confidence and great communication skills.
• Experience from diverse backgrounds (parent, teacher, retail, armed forces) – not required but valued.
• Commitment to teamwork and supporting colleagues.
