About The Role
Our School Crossing Patrol Service helps children and families cross the road safely each day. As an Assistant Supervisor, you will support the Area Supervisor in making sure the service runs smoothly and safely. You will work with School Crossing Patrol staff, visit sites, and help deal with any day-to-day issues. This is a varied role where you will spend time out and about as well as completing some basic admin tasks.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting School Crossing Patrol staff in their day-to-day work
- Visiting sites to check that patrols are working safely
- Helping to deal with any issues or incidents at sites, under the direction of the Area Supervisor
- Speaking with schools, parents, and members of the public
- Helping with uniform and equipment
- Keeping accurate recordsPassing information to the Area Supervisor
- Covering patrol duties if needed
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is:
- Friendly and easy to talk to
- Reliable and able to work on their own and as part of a team
- Organised and able to manage different tasks
- Comfortable speaking to children, parents, schools, and the public
- Understands the importance of health and safety and risk awareness
- Can follow health and safety and codes of conduct guidance and raise concerns
- Able to use basic IT systems and complete admin tasks
You will also need to:
- Be flexible in your approach to work
- Handle information in a confidential way
- Have a full UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle

You will be paid throughout the school holidays, and there are experienced supervisors to support you with the role.
The contracted hours for this role are 10 hours per week but can vary due to the need to cover different local school duty times as and when required.
Please note a full valid UK driving licence and access to and use of a vehicle is a requirement for this role.
