Job Purpose
To be responsible for:
- Attendance administration
- Attendance duties as outlined by the Attendance Officer
- Setting high expectations of attendance in communications
- Support the welfare students
- Support and liaise with students and families within our school community
- Office administration
Professional Responsibilities
Attendance
- Input attendance data and investigate any missing data, maintaining accurate attendance records, including unexplained lesson absences
- Ensure the electronic registration system is updated daily, investigating missing data with class teachers
- Record student absences and late arrivals on Arbor, maintaining accurate attendance records
- Make initial enquiries with parents/carers regarding unexplained absences/lateness – including first day calling
- Monitor the attendance of students, referring concerns to the Pastoral Leaders
- Promote good attendance within the school
- Maintain registers for students attending supervised study sessions
- Cover registration duties for absent colleagues
Administration
- Provide a high standard of administrative support to the school
- Work collaboratively with all members of the pastoral and inclusion team to help support students
- Carry out routine office tasks such as data entry, filing, shredding, distributing post, etc.
- Liaise with teaching staff, parents/carers, outside agencies, administration staff, and others as required
- Support the Sixth Form team and students at school during summer holidays on specified results days
- Use school‑based administration systems such as Arbor, Applicaa, Entry Sign and FocalPoint
Supporting the Academy / Additional Requirements
- Provide consistent and effective support for colleagues in line with the responsibilities of this role
- Work within the framework of the school ethos, always adhering to the Code of Conduct
- Maintain high standards of professional behaviour and presentation
- Undertake any other duties commensurate with this grade which may be required
- Comply with and assist in the development of policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety, security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person
- Be aware of and support difference and ensure equal opportunities for all
- Appreciate and support the role of other professionals
- Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required
- Recognise own strengths and expertise and use these to advise and support others
Performance Management
- Participate fully in the academy’s Performance Development process
- Attend relevant INSET training

- Develop and maximise use of ICT and internal systems
- Review and maintain your own professional practice through agreed development activities
- Ensure statutory requirements are met
- Maintain a secure knowledge and understanding of all academy policies and procedures
