We’re looking for a creative and compassionate Art Teacher to join a supportive SEN school where every pupil learns differently, and that’s celebrated. From sensory art projects to confidence-building creative sessions, this role helps young people express themselves in ways that feel safe, meaningful, and empowering.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Art lessons tailored to pupils with SEN, including ASD, SEMH, ADHD, and complex learning needs
- Adapt lessons so every learner can access creativity at their own pace
- Build positive relationships and create a calm, encouraging classroom environment
- Work closely with support staff, therapists, and SENCOs to support pupil progress
- Help students grow in confidence, independence, and self-expression through art
Qualifications and experience
- QTS or relevant teaching experience in Art
- A patient, flexible, and nurturing approach
- Strong behaviour management rooted in empathy and consistency
- Ability to think creatively, both in the classroom and on the spot
- SEN experience is beneficial; mainstream teachers with the right attitude are welcome

Qualifications and checks
- All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role
- Enhanced DBS check and DBS Update Service (or eligibility to obtain)
- Safeguarding checks in accordance with DfE guidance; online checks may be part of due diligence
- Access to safeguarding and Prevent Duty training where applicable
