  • Full time Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 15:30
  • Permanent position
  • NCJ PayScale Grade 4 (SCP 5 – 6) £25,583 – £25,989. Please note this salary will be pro rata for part time, term time only.

About the Role

We are seeking to appoint a committed and caring Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs. This is a rewarding role requiring patience, adaptability and a strong commitment to inclusive education.

The successful candidate will work under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO to support the pupil’s:

  • learning and academic development
  • social and emotional wellbeing
  • communication and behavioural needs

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualised support to a pupil with additional needs, enabling access to the curriculum
  • Deliver structured learning activities as directed by the class teacher
  • Adapt resources and approaches to meet the pupil’s needs
  • Support the pupil’s social, emotional and behavioural development
  • Monitor, record and report on pupil progress
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals
  • Support the implementation of individual support plans (e.g. EHCP/IEP)
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment

What You Need to Succeed

  • Experience working with children, ideally in a school or SEN setting
  • An understanding of supporting pupils with additional learning, behavioural, communication or sensory needs
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
  • A calm, consistent and flexible approach
  • A commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
