- NCJ PayScale Grade 4 (SCP 5 – 6) £25,583 – £25,989. Please note this salary will be pro rata for part time, term time only.
About the Role
We are seeking to appoint a committed and caring Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs. This is a rewarding role requiring patience, adaptability and a strong commitment to inclusive education.
The successful candidate will work under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO to support the pupil’s:
- learning and academic development
- social and emotional wellbeing
- communication and behavioural needs
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualised support to a pupil with additional needs, enabling access to the curriculum
- Deliver structured learning activities as directed by the class teacher
- Adapt resources and approaches to meet the pupil’s needs
- Support the pupil’s social, emotional and behavioural development
- Monitor, record and report on pupil progress
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals
- Support the implementation of individual support plans (e.g. EHCP/IEP)
- Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
What You Need to Succeed
- Experience working with children, ideally in a school or SEN setting
- An understanding of supporting pupils with additional learning, behavioural, communication or sensory needs
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
- A calm, consistent and flexible approach
- A commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
