Workshop Technician
Full‑time (37 hours) – Permanent
Grade C1, £34,434 – £37,280 per annum
North Kesteven District Council is seeking an experienced and highly competent professional to join the Waste & Street Service team based at Metheringham Depot. This post puts you at the heart of an operational team who delivers the Council’s waste collection service.
Job Requirements
- NVQ level 3 (or equivalent experience) or above in heavy vehicle maintenance
- Category C licence
- Proven experience as an HGV Technician, Mechanic or Fitter
- Experience of refuse collection vehicles (desirable)
- Loler and IRTEC accreditation (desirable)
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair and maintain a range of HGVs and LGVs to DVSA standards
- Undertake scheduled servicing, MOT preparations and safety inspections
- Respond to vehicle defects and breakdowns using diagnostic equipment
- Complete accurate service records associated to the role
