About the School

Situated in Blackpool, we are an inclusive, vibrant school community that firmly believes every child deserves the absolute best start in life. Our core driver is inclusivity; we proudly welcome and celebrate children from all backgrounds, faiths, socio‑economic statuses, and neurodiverse needs. We are a nurture‑led setting currently enacting the Nurture UK Six Principles to support holistic development.

The Role

We are seeking a deeply compassionate, intuitive, and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a wonderful child in our EYFS setting who is on the Autism spectrum and is currently non‑verbal. This rewarding role requires someone who can provide consistent, prompt support and gentle encouragement, helping this child navigate their environment, communicate their needs, and engage safely with early learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prompt Support: Anticipate the child’s needs and provide immediate, reassuring guidance to keep them safe, focused, and happy.
  • Encouragement & Engagement: Use creative, sensory‑based approaches to motivate the child and celebrate every breakthrough, no matter how small.
  • Communication Strategies: Utilize non‑verbal communication tools (such as PECS, Makaton, or visual timetables) to help the child express themselves and understand their daily routine.

Requirements

  • Proven experience supporting children with Autism (ASD) and non‑verbal communication needs, ideally within an Early Years or Nursery setting.
  • A calm, resilient, and deeply patient nature.
  • A natural alignment with our nurture‑led, highly inclusive ethos.
