Teaching Assistant

St Mary’s Catholic Voluntary Academy is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to support classroom teaching and promote pupil development across academic, spiritual, social and personal areas.

Responsibilities

• Work with class teachers to raise learning and attainment of pupils.
• Promote pupils’ independence, self‑esteem and social inclusion.
• Provide individual or group support so pupils can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement.

Qualifications & requirements

We are looking for an enthusiastic and supportive Teaching Assistant who is committed to achieving the best outcomes for pupils. The successful candidate will:

• Have effective working relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
• Be able to adapt approaches to meet the needs of all pupils.
• Have satisfactory references, an enhanced DBS check, a medical check, evidence of qualifications and verification of the right to work in the UK.
