Job Title: Support Worker
Job Location: Tredegar
Salary: £27,560.00 – £28,600.00 based on 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, plus potential sleep‑in allowance
Contract Type: Permanent
Responsibilities
- Supporting children to have the best quality of life possible—through activities such as baking, fun days out, or holidays.
- Ensuring children are kept safe and that their plans are suitable for their needs.
- Monitoring development by keeping systems and records up to date; all necessary training will be provided.
Qualifications
- Patience, compassion, and resilience; familiarity with the impact of trauma on behaviour.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, required for interacting with various stakeholders and updating children’s plans.
- A driving licence to transport children to community activities.
- Flexibility to sleep in the home during shifts, enabling 24-hour support and the ability to complete a full week in 2–3 days.
- Willingness to obtain a qualification in residential childcare within the first two years of working in the sector (the organisation will cover the costs).
