Start Date: 01/09/2026 (or ASAP)

Salary: £18,989-£19,290

Working Pattern: 32 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Term Time only plus 5 days

Responsibilities

The technician supports learning across Art and Technology by preparing materials, assisting with demonstrations, and managing resources, inventory, and risk assessments. Core duties include arranging regular safety inspections, maintaining tidy, hazard‑free teaching rooms, basic maintenance and setup of workshop tools, supporting CAD/CAM, and operating heat treatment facilities. Food duties involve managing hygiene, restocking consumables, and handling laundry. Art support includes preparing materials such as clay and cutting textiles, and completing administrative paperwork for gallery visits.

Qualifications

Essential criteria: effective communication with diverse audiences, maintaining confidentiality, proficient use of standard ICT packages, excellent time‑management and organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise workload. Willingness and ability to obtain further qualifications and training is essential. Desirable qualifications include a Food Hygiene Certificate or a relevant certificate for using RMT machinery, and experience in a school environment or within a specific curriculum area.
