Greenwich Living Options (GLO) Health and Adult Social Care (HAS) is recruiting Support Workers for our in‑house provisions for adults with Learning Disabilities and Autism.

Job Overview

We need five full‑time Support Workers (Grade SO1) to work 35 hrs per week in the GLO service covering Greenwich, Charlton and Abbey Wood. The role requires a strength‑based approach to enable residents to achieve their full potential, with a focus on choice, inclusion and independence.

Responsibilities

  • Support residents with learning disabilities and autism, addressing their physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs.
  • Plan, observe, record and communicate care activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Promote residents’ rights, choices and aspirations while maintaining the highest standard of care in line with Royal Greenwich Council and Greenwich Living Options policies, procedures and CQC Fundamental Standards.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic support.
  • Complete the 16 Care Certificate standards within six months as part of the probationary period.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Motivated and enthusiastic with good observational, listening and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and support residents with a strengths‑based approach.
  • Experience in caring for people with learning disabilities and autism is desirable.
  • Full employment history and satisfactory explanation of any employment gaps required.
  • Adherence to staff values and continuous assessment throughout the recruitment process.

Salary

£38,256 to £39,276 per year (35‑hour standard week).
