Cygnet Group are looking for a confident Care & Support Worker.
You will work full‑time, 42 hours a week on 12‑hour shifts, including alternate weekends where you may be scheduled 4 shifts in week one and 3 shifts in week two on a two‑week rotating rota; days only shifts are also available. Your work will make a positive difference to the lives of people in our care at Oxley Woodhouse.
Oxley Woodhouse is a specialist residential service in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, supporting people with learning disabilities, complex needs and behaviours that may challenge. We encourage and enable the people we support to lead a full and happy life, giving them choice and control and treating each person as an individual with unique strengths and preferences.
Main duties of the job
- Offer enhanced care with a flexible learning approach for all the people in our care
- Provide guidance and encouragement through physical and emotional support
- Learn about individuals’ specific needs and provide help in the most appropriate way
- Assist with and report on medical and welfare needs
- Safeguard service users
- Maintain a safe, clean environment for all
- Support service users to access the community, including work, college, hobbies, activities, day out and holidays
- Support service users to grow, develop and learn through engaging them in tasks such as cooking and cleaning
