Overview

Pharmacy Support Worker – HMP Wealstun

Full‑time role with a salary of £24,667 per annum. The position is located in the Pharmacy team at HMP Wealstun, a Category C men’s prison with an operational capacity of around 1,000.

Responsibilities

Support the pharmacy team in delivering medication services within the secure environment. Key duties include:

• Assisting with medicine dispensing and administration.
• Maintaining accurate records and complying with safety protocols.
• Communicating effectively with patients, staff and external partners.
• Participating in induction and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; a keen interest in pharmacy is essential.
• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Dispensing is a bonus but not mandatory.
• Desirable to have medicines handling experience.
• Proactive with excellent communication skills.
• Legal right to work in the UK and subject to vetting and security checks.
