EQUANS are looking for a Maintenance Technician (Electrical) for our Calderdale Royal Hospital contract in Halifax. This role would be a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview
To undertake a proactive role to carry out maintenance, repairs and inspection of building, mechanical and electrical services, associated systems, plant, and equipment in accordance with relevant standards and operational procedures. Participate in a On Call Rota to make sure the Hospital remains operational.
Impact
The successful candidate must be capable of working on their own initiative, thinking of alternative ways of working and being solutions driven and problem solving. Working in a live Hospital environment, minimise penalty deductions by responding in a timely manner to all maintenance issues in accordance with the requirements of the Concession / Project Agreement. Ensure there is minimum disruption to wards and departments throughout the site whilst carrying out works.
Complexity
- To undertake a proactive role carrying out maintenance, repairs and inspection on electrical systems, mechanical and associated building services. All in accordance with relevant standards and operational procedures and in compliance with legislation and guidance.
- As part of a skilled engineering team, you will carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks to various services across site and will involve varied tasks such as working on Lighting Systems, Nurse Call, L.V Electrical Installations, Security Systems, Motors, Pumps and associated building services in accordance with the PPM programme.
- Participate in the Engineer on call rota (Additional Payment associated).
- Respond in the required time to ad‑hoc breakdown requests as identified by supervisor / manager or as a minimum, to comply with contractual KPI’s.
- Assist in carrying out installation work involved in minor upgrading and adaptation works.
- Carry out systematic fault finding in a logical and safe manner on malfunctioning equipment.
- Carry out duties in accordance with safe working practices within statutory and Company guides.
- Complete and maintain records as and when appropriate and as required, whether written or electronic.
- Carry out required Authorised Person (AP) duties as required by site management and personal competence.
- Carry out additional Training when required to ensure competence and compliance with the Role.
Qualifications or Required Experience
- Time served Electrician (5 years or more)
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical
- 18th Edition 2391 or 2934/2935 qualification preferred but not essential.
- Previous Appointment as HV/LV AP
- Working in a Healthcare environment would be advantageous.
