About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join a dynamic and forward-thinking school in Uxbridge. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, covering subjects such as History, Geography and Religious Studies, or a combination within the humanities curriculum. You will be passionate about inspiring students, encouraging critical thinking and helping learners understand the world around them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners
  • Assess, monitor and report on student progress effectively
  • Encourage curiosity, debate and analytical thinking in humanities subjects
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities
  • Maintain strong classroom management and uphold school behaviour policies
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and leadership teams

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Degree in a relevant Humanities subject
  • Experience teaching Humanities at secondary level (preferred but not essential for ECTs)
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for education
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Desirable Skills

  • Ability to teach across multiple humanities disciplines
  • Experience using innovative teaching methods and technology
  • Track record of improving student attainment and engagement
