Salary: Support Staff Pay Scale F: £23,762 to £25,776 pro‑rata per annum (actual) (£28,598‑£31,022 full‑time/full‑year equivalent)
What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide high quality supervision of whole classes during short‑term absence of regular teachers.
- Deliver general curriculum support, including planning and administration.
- Develop and procure curriculum and enrichment resources efficiently.
- Implement the academy’s safeguarding policy and promote the welfare of young people.
About You
You will have strong communication and behaviour management skills, confidence, patience, and adaptability. You will remain calm under pressure, build positive relationships with students, and effectively supervise a class by delivering set work and managing classroom behaviour.
- Very good numeracy and literacy skills (GCSE grade C or NVQ Level 3 equivalent) in Maths and English.
- Proficient use of technology to support effective teaching and learning.
- Experience covering groups or whole classes in a teaching or related learning environment.
- Clear communication skills, both oral and written, with pupils, parents/carers and staff.
- Basic experience of assessing student progress and contributing to the assessment process.
- Knowledge of the needs of SEN students in academic settings.
