Job Description:

As a Sessional Worker you will be part of a diverse team that enables our members to participate in a range of recreational activities, ensuring that their needs are met while also providing a friendly, safe and sociable environment.

Sessional Workers are extremely valuable people in the lives of our members, they are responsible and trustworthy adults whom members feel safe to be themselves around; this relationship is crucial in growing Members’ self‑confidence and helping them to make friends when they’re with us.

The participants of Kisharon Langdon Brady are aged 5-15 and are provided with a well‑resourced and vibrant environment supported by caring staff.

Our sessional clubs take place in the form of after‑school, weekend clubs and holiday schemes. We have clubs that require support throughout the week (day and evening) and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Help deliver engaging group activities to young people with additional needs.
  • Provide support to members to develop their confidence and work towards practicing their own version of independence.
  • Work 1:1 with members who need extra support.
  • Undertake organisational tasks that help Kisharon Langdon Brady run smoothly.

Qualifications

  • Educated to GCSE level with a grade A–C in Maths and English.
  • Passionate about supporting people with learning disabilities and autism to become independent.
  • Experience working with young people who face barriers to inclusion (preferred but not essential).
  • Outgoing, positive, naturally empathetic personality and a clear, straightforward communication style.
