Job Overview

NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership provides Clinical Logistics Transport Services across all Health Boards in Wales through its Health Courier Service, serving South Wales. The service transports more than 5 million movements of samples of Blood Products and Pathology per year and delivers over 120 000 items of mail and medical notes weekly, operating primarily 8 am‑6 pm Monday–Friday with some 24‑hour services.

Responsibilities

As a Health Courier Service Driver/Storekeeper you will:

  • Manage stock items in store centres.
  • Safely transport, distribute and replenish NHS Pathology, Blood/Blood Products, Secure and Non‑Secure Stationery, Laundry, Mail/Records and medical consumables such as needles and syringes.
  • Distribute items to primary health care sites across NHS Wales.

Person Specification

  • Welsh speaker (desirable, but Welsh and/or English accept).
  • Driving a range of vans.
  • Dealing with customers.
  • Sound geographical knowledge of the area served.
  • Use of mobile technology.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Knowledge of moving and handling and awareness of health and safety.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
