Job Title: Full-Time Pharmacy Technician (Non-Customer Contact)
Department: Pharmacy Operations
Reports To: Department Pharmacy Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team on a full-time basis. This role focuses on non-customer contact tasks, ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of medications and supporting the pharmacy’s operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Medication Preparation:
- Accurately prepare and package prescription medications for dispensing.
- Perform quality checks on prepared medications to ensure accuracy and compliance with prescriptions.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Accurately document all medication preparation and inventory activities.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company policies related to record-keeping and documentation.
- Prepare and maintain reports as required by the pharmacy manager.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Follow all pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards, including those related to medication handling and compounding.
- Adhere to safety protocols to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Participate in continuous education and training to stay current with pharmacy practices and regulations.
- Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with pharmacists and other team members to support the efficient operation of the pharmacy.
- Provide support for special projects and initiatives as directed by the pharmacy manager.
- Assist in the training and mentoring of new pharmacy technicians.
Qualifications
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification:
- KY Pharmacy Technician Certificate – can be obtained upon hire
- Experience:
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician desired but not required
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry moderate weight (up to 20 pounds).
- Manual dexterity to handle and package medications.
Work Schedule
- Full-time position Monday through Friday
- 8:30AM to 5:00PM or 9:00AM to 5:30PM depending on business needs.
- NO nights, weekends or holidays. (((Overtime may be available during the week or on Saturdays as business dictates.)))
