Job Title: Full-Time Pharmacy Technician (Non-Customer Contact)

Department: Pharmacy Operations

Reports To: Department Pharmacy Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team on a full-time basis. This role focuses on non-customer contact tasks, ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of medications and supporting the pharmacy’s operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Medication Preparation:
    • Accurately prepare and package prescription medications for dispensing.
    • Perform quality checks on prepared medications to ensure accuracy and compliance with prescriptions.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping:
    • Accurately document all medication preparation and inventory activities.
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company policies related to record-keeping and documentation.
    • Prepare and maintain reports as required by the pharmacy manager.
  • Compliance and Safety:
    • Follow all pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards, including those related to medication handling and compounding.
    • Adhere to safety protocols to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
    • Participate in continuous education and training to stay current with pharmacy practices and regulations.
  • Collaboration and Support:
    • Work closely with pharmacists and other team members to support the efficient operation of the pharmacy.
    • Provide support for special projects and initiatives as directed by the pharmacy manager.
    • Assist in the training and mentoring of new pharmacy technicians.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certification:
    • KY Pharmacy Technician Certificate – can be obtained upon hire
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience as a pharmacy technician desired but not required
  • Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry moderate weight (up to 20 pounds).
  • Manual dexterity to handle and package medications.

Work Schedule

  • Full-time position Monday through Friday
  • 8:30AM to 5:00PM or 9:00AM to 5:30PM depending on business needs.
  • NO nights, weekends or holidays. (((Overtime may be available during the week or on Saturdays as business dictates.)))
