Teacher of Physics (Fixed Term until October 2026)

Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed teacher of Physics to join the Physics Department for parental leave cover (full‑time fixed‑term contract). The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for the subject and a desire to inspire pupils.

Responsibilities

• Teach International GCSE Physics and A Level Physics effectively.
• Create engaging, stimulating lessons that foster curiosity, academic rigour and confidence.
• Support pupils who aspire to study Physics, engineering or related subjects at competitive universities.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues, share good practice and reflect on teaching.
• Participate in enrichment opportunities such as Science clubs, competitions and lectures.
• Undertake tutor duties within a boarding or day house, contributing to pastoral development and well‑being of pupils.

Qualifications

• Good degree in Physics or a related discipline.
• A teaching qualification is desirable.
• Strong subject knowledge and ability to teach at GCSE and A Level.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with pupils and parents.

Other Requirements

Offers of appointment are subject to satisfactory references and DBS clearance. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is essential, as is a willingness to engage fully in the school’s professional development opportunities.
