Design Technology (DT) Teacher
In the heart of Wandsworth, an “Outstanding” Secondary School is looking for a Design Technology (DT) Teacher to start in September 2026. This is a permanent, full‑time contract.
The Head Teacher seeks an ambitious DT Teacher who will add value to an expanding DT Department. The school is renowned for its supportive SLT and impressive Progress 8 results across all subjects.
Experienced DT Teachers can take on TLR roles such as KS3 Coordinator and Pastoral Responsibility. Newly Qualified Teachers (ECT) will receive bespoke ECT induction and 1:1 mentoring within a supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspire and motivate students.
- Work closely with a team of DT teachers.
- Take on TLR opportunities – KS3 Coordinator and pastoral duties.
- Support ECTs through 1:1 mentoring, induction, and training.
Essential Criteria
- UK QTS or in process of gaining QTS.
- Strong academic qualifications – degree, A Levels, GCSEs.
- Meeting the 8 Teaching Standards at a “Good” or “Outstanding” level.
- Ability to work as part of a large DT team.
- Willingness to listen to feedback.
Salary and Terms
MPS1–UPS3 – £39,571 to £62,135 + TLR (size depending on experience).
Full‑time, permanent; start September 2026.
Location
District of Wandsworth, good Tube links. On‑site carpark. Modern and creative facilities, impeccable behavior, additional support from graduate teaching assistants.
