Role Overview
We are hoping to recruit two members of staff to join our Facilities Team at Weymouth Hospital and its associated sites such as Littlemoor Health Centre and Portland Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Porter duties – Receiving deliveries and supporting in unloading deliveries such as stores, linen and catering deliveries;
- Cleaning – Duties across the site to NHS cleaning standards, supporting the cleaning of clinical areas, toilets, bin emptying and other cleaning tasks as required;
- Catering – Basic catering duties such as making fresh sandwiches and salads, with all onsite training provided.
Work Hours & Conditions
Part‑time role of 20 hours per week. Hours are flexible to cover service demands and staff leave, typically between 7am and 8pm. Shifts may be short (e.g., 4pm–8pm) or longer (e.g., 7am–2pm) and the maximum weekly hours remain 20, with opportunities to work more as shifts arise. Weekend hours attract additional enhanced pay and a generous annual leave allowance. Full training, support, uniform and shadowing will be provided.
Requirements
- Valid right to work in the UK – no visa sponsorship is available;
- Full UK driving licence (required for delivery of meals to a nearby site);
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check – the Trust will cover the cost;
- Experience in cleaning, catering or porter duties is preferred but not essential.
