Pastoral Support Officer

The Governors of Newport High School are seeking a dedicated, empathetic, and resilient Pastoral Support Officer to join our team on a permanent basis. We are looking for an exceptional individual to provide high-quality pastoral care, managing the academic and social progress of students.

• Provide support to staff on student pastoral issues, promote positive student behaviour and wellbeing, including providing specific intervention for behaviour support and communicating this support with relevant stakeholders.
• Join student support meetings to share relevant information where appropriate and implement any interventions requested.
• Ensure attendance registers are up to date and that the attendance policy is followed for absent/missing students.
• Complete student voice for the appropriate year groups supported, collate and report the student voice to the line manager and other relevant colleagues.
