Our client, a reputable firm, is seeking a Conveyancing Paralegal to join their Sheffield team. The role involves assisting and supporting fee earners on a varied caseload of residential property transactions. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Conveyancing Paralegal eager to make a difference within the team and business.
Responsibilities
- Assist on a varied caseload of residential property transactions
- Handle client enquiries, provide updates and take instructions
- Prepare correspondence, forms and documents under instructions and supervision
- Support fee earners with the management and progression of transactions
- Prepare sale contracts and relevant support documentation
- Facilitate exchange of contracts under instructions
- Arrange financial statements, SDLT submissions and certificates of title for advance funds
- Submit and intercept new build warranties promptly
- Prepare Help to Buy incentives
- Act as client point of contact via telephone and face-to-face, recording accurate messages
- Liaise with clients, estate agents, financial advisors, mortgage lenders and other law firms as required
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and third parties
- Draft mortgage reports under supervision
- Flag potential inaccuracies in mortgage offers to fee earners
- Draft search reports under supervision
- Flag potential issues with searches to fee earners
- Draft and issue contract packs under supervision
- Draft SDLT returns under supervision
- Draft legal forms and documents (TR1, deeds, etc.)
- Send documents to clients for signing under supervision
- Review sales enquiries on simple transactions
- Order searches
- Complete completion set-ups under supervision
- Prepare handover for completion under supervision
Qualifications
- Experience working within the legal sector
- Knowledge of the conveyancing process
- Proven experience supporting fee earners
- Knowledge of MS Office and case management systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational skills
- High attention to detail
Salary and Working Hours
Salary: £23,000 – £26,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
Working hours: Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm with a 1 hour lunch break.
