Part time Enhanced Response Service Support Workers
The Enhanced Response Service (ERS) is a fast‑paced service that supports people who trigger their telecare alarm and works alongside ambulance, fire, and rescue teams to respond to non‑injured falls. The role promotes independence and signs post service users to partnership teams, providing person‑centred care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care for service users, including washing, dressing, toileting, catheter care, feeding, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Respond to falls and telecare alerts, offering reassurance and practical assistance in coordination with other services such as ambulance, fire and rescue.
- Recognise, report and record any incidents or concerns in line with Council policy, applying knowledge from adult protection, diversity and mental capacity act training.
- Liaise effectively within the ERS team and with external agencies, including assistive technology and health colleagues, to deliver high‑quality care.
- Maintain accurate written and electronic documentation of service user care in accordance with CCC policy.
- Travel across Cambridgeshire using council pool vehicles that are manual drive; a full manual driving licence is required.
Work Hours and Shift Patterns
- Part‑time (18.25 or 21.25 hours per week).
- Set rota including morning, evening, weekend shifts and every other weekend.
- Flexibility to cover shifts within this rota is essential; specific days of availability cannot be accommodated.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience in a care environment, preferably adult social care.
- NVQ Level 2 Care qualification or equivalent, with willingness to progress to Level 3.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Good IT skills for updating electronic data and case records.
- Full driving licence (manual vehicle).
