HGV Class 1 Drivers

Overview

Staffline is recruiting for HGV Class 1 drivers for our client based in Sherburn in Elmet, LS25.

Minimum 6 months experience required for this role and ability to use initiative.

Pay rates

• Days: £19.75 per hour
• Nights: £20.50 per hour
• Saturday: £21.25 per hour
• Sunday: £22 per hour
• Bank Holiday Day: £23 per hour
• Bank Holiday Night: £26.99 per hour

Your Time at Work

We are currently recruiting for experienced and reliable HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our team, delivering totes, pallets, and black boxes to stores and RDCs across local and regional routes.

We are mainly looking for drivers to work Thursday to Sunday as these are the busiest days – there may be ad hoc shifts available mid week too upon request.

Shift start times: 04:00 for Days, 11:00 – 13:00 Afternoons.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivery of totes, pallets, and black boxes to stores and distribution centres
• Operating tail lifts, pump trucks, and dock levellers
• Completing 1-4 drops per trailer (typically 1 run, occasionally 2 per shift)
• Ensuring safe and efficient loading/unloading of goods
• Carrying out store deliveries, some of which involve tight access and reversing

Perfect Worker

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
• Minimum 6 months experience
• Confident with reversing and manoeuvring in tight spaces
• Comfortable with an element of manual handling
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and professional attitude
• No more than 6 points
• Digi card and DCPC
