Monarch Education is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Teacher to join a vibrant team at a well-regarded secondary school. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students and foster a passion for languages, helping them develop cultural awareness and strong communication skills in a supportive and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective MFL lessons (e.g. French, Spanish, or other languages offered) that promote student learning and enjoyment.
  • Assess and monitor student progress through regular assignments, speaking, listening, reading, and writing assessments, providing constructive feedback.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum aligned with the National Curriculum for MFL.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation, confidence, and cultural curiosity.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies and digital tools (e.g. language apps, multimedia resources) to enhance learning experiences.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students of varying abilities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support departmental and whole-school initiatives.
  • Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and staff to support academic and personal development.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to refine and improve teaching practices.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A relevant degree in a Modern Foreign Language or related subject.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching MFL at secondary level is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and assessment practices in languages.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire students and build confidence in language learning.
  • Competence in using digital tools and technology to support teaching.
