The Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Forklift Driver / Yard Foreman to join our team. This is a hands‑on role combining forklift operation, stock management, yard supervision, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a counterbalance forklift to load and unload vehicles.
• Organise and maintain timber stock within the yard.
• Supervise daily yard operations and assist in managing yard staff.
• Pick and prepare customer orders accurately.
• Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed.
• Conduct routine vehicle and equipment checks.
• Assist customers and delivery drivers professionally.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and efficient working yard.

Requirements

• Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (essential).
• Previous experience within a timber merchant, builders’ merchant, or similar environment desirable, however not essential.
• Strong knowledge of timber products also desirable, however not essential.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to lead by example and motivate others.
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Reliable, hardworking, and customer‑focused.
