About the role:
A vibrant mainstream secondary school in Liversedge is seeking an inspiring 0.6 Drama Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This is a temp‑to‑permanent opportunity for a practitioner who brings creativity, confidence and a nurturing approach to the classroom. You’ll be working with a diverse cohort of learners, delivering engaging Drama lessons that build confidence, collaboration and expressive skills. The school is well‑resourced, community‑focused and committed to inclusive practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Drama across KS3 and KS4, delivering imaginative and accessible lessons
- Create a safe, supportive and structured learning environment rooted in trauma‑informed practice
- Adapt teaching to meet a wide range of needs, using a SEN‑focused approach within a mainstream setting
- Plan, assess and monitor progress in line with school and departmental expectations
- Contribute to the wider performing arts provision, including extracurricular opportunities where appropriate
- Work collaboratively with pastoral and SEND teams to ensure every student feels seen, supported and able to succeed
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Strong subject knowledge in Drama, with experience teaching up to KS4
- Demonstrable understanding of trauma‑informed approaches and how they shape classroom practice
- Experience supporting students with a range of SEND needs
- Confident classroom presence with excellent behaviour‑management skills
- Empathy, resilience and a commitment to inclusive, student‑centred teaching
