Machine Operator

We are currently recruiting for a General Operative to join the shopfloor team at a busy manufacturing company in Coventry. This is a hands‑on role working with materials and machinery.

Hours: 6 am–2 pm Monday to Friday; during busy periods you must be prepared to work 6 am–2 pm and 2 pm–10 pm.

Pay rate: £12.83 per hour paid weekly.

Contract: Temporary to Permanent.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating a slitting machine to cut materials accurately.
• Cutting and preparing materials to required specifications.
• Working on the shop floor as part of a team.
• Following health & safety procedures at all times.
• Maintaining a clean and organised work area.

Requirements

• Good level of common sense and practical thinking.
• Experience operating a slitting machine preferred but not essential.
• Experience operating and setting machinery preferred but not essential.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to support shift work when required.
