Machine Driver/Operative – Sandwell team
Location: Oldbury, B69 2BP
Salary: £28,298.27 per annum + excellent benefits
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Thursday 09:15 to 17:15 Friday 09:30 to 17:00 / Monday to Thursday 06:00 to 14:00 Friday 06:00 to 13:30 – alternate weekly.
Responsibilities
- Carry out the loading of all waste materials in and out of the site.
- Assist with traffic direction and efficient movement of vehicles on site, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Conduct daily inspection, general maintenance and reporting of all plant and vehicles before and after use.
- Understand Serco contractual requirements for refuse & recycling.
- Maintain cleanliness of the Eagle Recovery and Transfer Hub site – building, plant, equipment, vehicle wash and general area.
Qualifications
- Hold a valid driving licence.
- Experience with plant, machinery or within a transfer station desirable.
- Physically fit and healthy due to the nature of the business.
- Prepared to go on call out of hours for the site on a rota.
- Self‑motivated.
- Willingness to undertake further training.
